Quantitative Research & Evaluation Assistant

Black Box Research and Consultancy Ltd is recruiting a part-time Quantitative Research and Evaluation Assistant to support research and evaluation work relating to violence prevention, community safety and criminal justice.

We are looking for someone with strong quantitative research skills, excellent analytical writing and the ability to work carefully with complex and sensitive information. The role may particularly suit a recent Master’s graduate, current PhD researcher or someone with equivalent applied experience.

Role at a glance

  • Salary: £11,700 per annum for 15 hours per week (£29,250 FTE)
  • Hours: 15 hours per week, normally worked over two days
  • Location: Predominantly remote, with occasional travel where required
  • Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2027
  • Extension: There may be an opportunity to extend the contract, subject to business needs and the availability of further work
  • Start date: 1st September 2026
  • Eligibility: Applicants must currently be resident in the UK and already have the right to work in the UK. We cannot consider overseas-based applicants or provide visa sponsorship for this role.
